I recently came across an article about the highly anticipated game, Resident Evil Requiem, and I have to say, it's looking pretty promising. According to the Monday letters page, one reader even thinks it's going to be a "good one". This got me thinking about the ending of GTA 5, as it seems to be a bit hazy for some fans. But let's not get too sidetracked, as I'm here to discuss the latest edition of Games Inbox, a collection of our readers' letters, comments, and opinions. First and foremost, let's talk about Resident Evil Requiem. I have to say, the preview looks quite exciting, and it seems to confirm what the trailers have been teasing - this game is going to be a real step up from Resident Evil Village. Personally, I have high hopes for this game and I see no reason why it wouldn't be a big hit. And if it does end up being a success, good on Capcom! Count me in as one of the many interested gamers. However, it's interesting to note that the survival horror genre doesn't seem to sell as well as some other genres, even though it's often talked about. I'm just glad to hear that Alien Isolation is finally getting a sequel after all this time. It has always been one of my favorites. Of course, I also have a soft spot for the Resident Evil franchise, especially since its only close rival is Silent Hill, which offers a completely different gaming experience. The horror genre may not have many franchises, but the ones we do have are quite diverse, which is more than what can be said for some other genres. Here's hoping that if Requiem is a hit, it can inspire even more thrilling horror games in the future. Moving on to another game that has been making waves in the gaming community - Resident Evil Requiem. The preview has me hooked, and if I was someone who pre-ordered games, I would definitely do it for this one. I mean, who doesn't love Leon? He has always been the best character in my opinion, and now he's back as a super experienced death machine, ready to take on any outbreak. Count me in! I'm also intrigued by the fact that there will be two different styles of gameplay in this game. As much as I loved Resident Evil 4, I have to admit that it did get a bit repetitive at times. So, I'm glad to hear that the developers have addressed this issue and have made some changes to keep the game interesting. And let's not forget the disaster that was Resident Evil 6 with its dozen different characters. I'm glad they learned from their mistakes and are now giving us a more cohesive and thrilling gaming experience. Speaking of remakes, I can't help but wonder why they chose to do a Code: Veronica remake before Resident Evil 0. Maybe because the two main characters in Zero are too similar? Either way, I can't wait to see what other surprises Capcom has in store for us. Will we get another Resident Evil 1 remake? And what about Resident Evil 5 style co-op? As a fan, I would be more than happy to see both. Now, onto a different topic - GTA 6. It seems that there won't be a physical edition for the game in order to prevent spoilers. While this may seem like something Rockstar would do, I have to question if anyone really cares about the story in these games. Sure, the characters are great and memorable, but can anyone really remember the story of GTA 5? I certainly can't. Three people do crimes and... that's about it. I don't even remember the ending or the goal of the game. It makes me wonder if there was a better ending planned that we never got to see, especially since GTA 4 had a memorable ending. Moving on to other gaming news, there's been a lot of speculation about a potential Nintendo Direct in February. Some fans are hoping to see some big announcements for the 10-year anniversary of the Switch in 2027. However, as GameCentral points out, Nintendo is very inconsistent when it comes to celebrating anniversaries. While they went all out for the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., they often ignore other milestones. So, we'll just have to wait and see what they have in store for us. To wrap things up, I want to give a shoutout to Rob who shared some great suggestions for games to play with his daughter, such as Lego City Undercover, Farm Together, Wobbly Life, Human Fall Flat, and Minecraft. These are all great options for family fun on the Switch. And finally, I have to agree with the review in progress for Highguard. While the concept may sound interesting, the game itself seems too complicated and generic for my taste. Plus, as many gamers can attest, time is often a factor when it comes to trying out new multiplayer games. So, I'll be keeping my expectations in check for this one.
