Protest in the city over propaganda about Dharmasthala constituency

Madikeri, Aug. 8: The Sri Dharmasthala Bhaktabhimani Vedike organized a protest in the city today, objecting to the religious sentiments of devotees being hurt through propaganda about Sri Dharmasthala constituency and against Dharmadhikari Dr. Virendra Heggade.

Hundreds of devotees gathered at the city's Gandhi Maidan and expressed their anger over the current propaganda and development.

Speaking on the occasion, the constituency's convener Dhananjay said that the state has benefited in various ways through Dharmasthala constituency and Dharmadhikari. The people of the entire state, including Kodagu, have benefited from the constituency through various services, trainings, facilities and assistance. But now, some people are spreading propaganda about this religious background constituency, including on social media, he said, which is condemnable.

If faith in God is a part of it, then the social movement can also recognize it, and some allegations there are being investigated. The truth will be known through the investigation. But useless propaganda is not good.Another prominent person, K.S. Devaiah, spoke and said that people should unite for a good cause.

(From the front page) Only propaganda should not be important. Such an issue should be stopped. Ravimogera, a leader of the Deva Narthakara Sangha, spoke and said that it is not right to sow poison seeds through propaganda against people's faith in God and God.

District coordinator of the Bhakta Vedike, A.T. Rangaswamy, said that the Dharmasthala constituency should be considered as doing the work of a government. Later, a procession was taken from Gandhi Maidan to the District Collector's office and a petition was submitted to District Collector Venkatraja. Appropriate legal action should be taken against those who are spreading propaganda and false news against Manjunatha Swamy and Dr. Virendra Heggade, who have been worshipped since the time of their ancestors.

The investigation by the Special Investigation Team currently underway is welcome. But the petition has demanded a thorough investigation into the misinformation.

On this occasion, prominent figures on behalf of the devotees' forum, former vice-president of the municipal council T.M. Ayyappa, former president of the district administration Dhirghakeshi Shivanna, Pundarikaksha of Kushalnagar, K.K. Maheshkumar, representatives of various temples and organizations participated.
