The collector had even decided to float separate tenders for the renovation work. However, there has been no progress since then. With the change in the ruling party, a BJP-led council was elected to the Sundargarh Municipality. The new chairman decided to cancel all previous tenders and handed over the renovation work to the Roads and Building department. The order for renovation was issued on July 16, 2023, with an expected completion date of March 2024. Although work has begun, there is no definite timeline for its completion.
