Dwiti Chandra Sahu, who teaches at Government High School in Billesu Village, Seskhal, Rayagada, and Santosh Kumar Kar, who teaches at Jaya Durga High School in Narla Road, Kalahandi, were beaming with pride as they received the National Teachers' Award 2024 from the state. President Murmu, in her speech, highlighted the significance of teachers' role in shaping the future of the country.

"Children are the future of our nation, and as they learn life skills and values, it is the responsibility of teachers to guide them towards becoming future leaders who will shape the destiny of our country," stated President Murmu. Out of the 82 awardees, 50 were teachers from 28 states, 3 Union Territories, and six organizations. Among them, 34 were male, 16 were female, and two were differently-abled. In addition, 16 teachers from the Higher Education department and 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were also recognized for their exceptional contributions. The National Teachers' Award is a prestigious recognition that celebrates the hard work and dedication of teachers who have significantly enhanced the quality of education and enriched the lives of their students.
