Pop duo reunites on TV to celebrate 20 years of their holiday hit.
We all know the feeling of being transported back in time and for many of us the Cheeky Girls did just that when they showed up on The Last Leg's festive special. Twins Gabriela and Monica Irimia were the perfect surprise when they came out of a present box dressed in their signature sparkly dresses and performed their hit song 'Have a Cheeky Christmas'.

It's been twenty years since the song originally reached number 10 in the UK charts, and now that the Cheeky Girls have graced us with their presence on a TV show, it's no surprise that people have been reminiscing. Viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their shock and nostalgia, with one user Mo writing, 'didn't expect to see the Cheeky Girls on tv tonight! Life is full of surprises!'

Not only did they appear on The Last Leg, but they had a surprise cameo during the Amazon thriller 'Saltburn' too. Writer, director, and producer Emerald Fennell was pleased she was able to sneak in their festive track and Joe Black on X, formerly Twitter, described the whole scene as 'brilliant'.

The Cheeky Girls burst onto our screens in 2002 with their catchy songs and had a series of hits including The Cheeky Song, Take Your Shoes Off, and It's A Cheeky Holiday. Despite not winning the show, they gained massive popularity with audiences.

The sisters have since gone on to have more ‘normal’ jobs, working for car dealerships, but last year they released a new single, Let's Have Fun, which was written by their beloved mum Margit.

We hope viewers of The Last Leg stayed watching until the end for round two of the Cheeky Girls, as they provided backing vocals for another interesting musical number performed by host Alex Brooker and East 17 singer Tony Mortimer. The Cheeky Girls opted out of wearing the white coats, but still sang along with the other guests Alison Hammond, Tom Davis, Adam Hills, and Josh Widdicombe.

The Cheeky Girls are back and it seems they're here to stay. Tune in to The Last Leg when it airs again on New Year's Eve at 9pm to see what else they have in store. Who knows, maybe we'll get to hear the classic 'The Cheeky Song' again!
