New Delhi: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is scheduled to visit India from October 21 to 23 for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Monday. According to the MEA, the visit is expected to further strengthen the India-EU strategic partnership. This will be Tusk’s second visit to India as Poland’s prime minister; his first came during an earlier term in 2010.

Invited by Modi, Tusk will be accompanied by Andrzej Domanski, Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy, along with a large business delegation, the ministry said in a statement. Tusk and Modi will hold bilateral discussions on October 22, during which the two leaders will review the full range of bilateral ties. The relationship was elevated to a Strategic Partnership during the Indian prime minister’s visit to Poland in August 2024, the statement noted.

“They will also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. PM Donald Tusk will also travel to Bengaluru, where he will engage with various business stakeholders, including from the IT and space sectors,” the MEA said. An India-Poland Business Forum will be organised on October 22 in New Delhi and on October 23 in Bengaluru, it added.

“The visit will provide the opportunity to further strengthen the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, defence, emerging technologies, renewable energy, education, culture and people-to-people ties,” the MEA said. Tusk had earlier visited New Delhi in 2017 for the India-EU Summit in his role as president of the European Council.
