Agar Police have recently activated the National Automatic Finger Identification System (NAFIS) in the district to identify and track criminals. SP Vinod Kumar Singh has emphasised on the effectiveness of this system in helping police monitor criminals who are attempting to evade the law by changing their physical appearances or hiding in different places.
Kanad police have played a key role in collecting fingerprints of individuals who have been classified as anti-social elements. These fingerprints were then sent to the Agar fingerprint branch where their database was used to ascertain the past criminal antecedents of the criminals.
