Police face new challenges with young offenders who have no prior criminal history in Bhopal.
Bhopal has been facing a challenging situation as more and more youngsters and minors are getting involved in criminal activities. This has become a major concern for the police who are struggling to maintain law and order, as criminals seem to be striking without fear or hesitation. While it is relatively easy to identify and track old criminals with a history of criminal activities, the new generation of criminals is proving to be a difficult task for the police to handle. These young individuals are committing crimes like assaults, thefts, snatching, vandalism, and stabbings, and then disappearing without a trace, making it extremely difficult for the police to track them down.

According to police sources, many of the youths who have been caught in recent clashes, stabbings, thefts, and burglaries were previously unknown to the authorities. This was evident in the Shahpura assault incident where all seven youths arrested had no criminal record. Even in the case of mobile snatching, two minors who were arrested a month ago had no past criminal record. Similarly, in a recent incident where a mobile was snatched from the Personal Assistant of the Deputy Chief Minister in TT Nagar, the two minors arrested were also unknown to the police. Even Ankit Yadav, who was arrested for vandalism at Green Park Colony, had a clean record.

It has become a common trend for police stations in areas like Bag Sewania, Ayodhya Nagar, Piplani, and Misrod to detain newcomers, including minors, in cases of theft and snatching. Officials have noticed that professional criminals often recruit young boys to carry out their crimes, knowing that they will be harder to trace as they have no previous records. This makes it difficult for the police to identify them through traditional methods.

To tackle this issue more effectively, Bhopal police have taken the initiative to open 688 new Goonda Files from January to August. Additionally, 47 history-sheets have been opened for regular offenders at different police stations in the city. This will help the police to monitor and keep track of emerging criminals more closely. It is a step towards ensuring the safety and security of the citizens of Bhopal from the growing number of criminals, especially the young ones, who are posing a threat to the peace and harmony of the city.
