During a flight from Doha to Dublin, passengers onboard a Qatar Airways flight experienced a rough patch as the plane flew over Turkey. This incident comes just days after another flight, this time from London to Singapore, experienced severe turbulence. Sadly, a 73-year-old passenger named Geoffrey Kitchen lost his life due to a heart attack during the turbulence. His wife, who was also onboard, is still in the hospital.

In most cases, turbulence is not too severe and only causes a few bumps. However, there are still around 65,000 flights every year that encounter moderate turbulence, and about 5,500 that encounter severe turbulence, as reported by the National Centre for Atmospheric Research.
