Piers Morgan, the 60-year-old journalist and presenter, has recently hinted that he may have a future in politics, even going as far as suggesting he could run for Prime Minister. In an interview with Saga Magazine, Morgan revealed that he has been hearing calls from the public for his election, and that he is open to the idea of a career in politics.
"There has been talk about 'PM for PM', Piers Morgan for prime minister, why not?" he said. "Right now, there are a lot of people in this country who feel betrayed by successive governments, and I feel I could make a difference on issues like the NHS, immigration, and infrastructure."
Morgan also shared some of his possible manifesto promises, including a 1% tax on income to fund the NHS and taking a tough stance on immigration, inspired by US President Donald Trump's policies. He also mentioned his past friendship with Trump, whom he met while filming The Celebrity Apprentice in 2008.
But politics is not the only thing on Morgan's mind. The journalist also revealed his main goals, which include staying healthy and releasing a new autobiography. "I watch what I eat and exercise more – I've even taken up boxing," he said. "Not because I keep getting into fights, though. The only person who ever landed a fist on me was Jeremy Clarkson at the 2004 Press Awards. It wasn't much of a punch, but it did leave a scar above my right temple... my Harry Potter scar."
Morgan also addressed rumors of using weight loss jabs, stating that he prefers to take care of himself through exercise and healthy eating. "I do know some men who've had [weight loss jabs] and they've lost muscle mass and appetite, and don't want to go to the pub. They're scrawny and boring," he said.
Despite his past support for the Conservative Party, Morgan described himself as a centrist and expressed his willingness to listen to all sides of an argument. "I've been vocal about my political opinions in the past, but I'm always open to hearing different perspectives," he said.
Morgan's diverse career has seen him work in various roles in journalism, including editor of The Sun and the News of the World, as well as hosting TV shows like Piers Morgan's Life Stories and Good Morning Britain. He also served as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.
