Perrie Edwards shares sad news about her strained friendship with Jesy Nelson.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, singer Perrie Edwards got candid about her relationship with former bandmate Jesy Nelson. The 31-year-old revealed that she hasn't spoken to Jesy in a long time, and it breaks her heart. Perrie, along with Jesy, Jade Thirlwall, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, formed the girl group Little Mix on The X Factor back in 2010. However, in 2020, Jesy decided to leave the group, and the remaining members later announced a hiatus in 2022.

Reflecting on the situation, Perrie said, "We don't talk, and haven't done for a long time. It's really sad, it's heartbreaking. But sometimes these things happen, and people decide they want to part ways, and that's absolutely fine. I would rather it went differently, but you can't control how things go."

Perrie, who welcomed her son Axl in 2021, also opened up about her solo career. She admitted that going solo has changed her in a similar way to motherhood, and she had to find the confidence to perform without her bandmates by her side. She has released two singles, "Forget About Us" and "Tears," in 2024, and her debut solo album is in the works.

The singer also spoke about her struggles with anxiety, saying, "It's probably the worst it's ever been. It started to consume me. It's horrible. I try to speak out about it, because when you feel so anxious or scared of panic attacks, it makes you feel so isolated." She added that she has therapy and coping mechanisms, but it's something she has to learn to live with.

Perrie also shared her love and admiration for her fiance, Besiktas footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. She described him as "the best person I've ever met in my entire life" and said, "I'm obsessed with him, and so content in my relationship." She also revealed that he has been incredibly supportive of her through tough times.

While Perrie would love to branch out into acting, particularly in a musical film like The Greatest Showman, or do voiceover work for Disney, she's focusing on her music career for now. She said, "I'm honestly just going with the flow right now. It's all dependent on how your music does, and you don't know what the future holds. I'm just learning as I go. But I want to do what I love and be happy."

Perrie's interview with Cosmopolitan will be available in their August/September issue, on sale from July 16th. She ended the interview by saying, "I'm just grateful for all the support and love from my fans and everyone around me. And I'm excited to see where my solo career takes me."
