It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that the beloved Palestinian DJ and festival founder, ODDZ, has passed away. Real name Odai Masri, he was the co-founder of Exist Festival and ran Harara Records, the first Palestinian electronic record label.
Root Radio, an Istanbul-based station which had Masri as a resident, made the announcement on Instagram. In a heartfelt post, they said, "Hard to find words to describe this. Our friend, resident, brother, one of the closest people to the Root community has left us today. We were your backbone and we will always carry your fight. Rest well beautiful soul."
Masri was also known as one half of techno project ANTS, alongside Italian producer Soulless.
