Nicki Minaj has started her own record label, allowing her to sign and promote artists of her own choosing.
This past weekend, Nicki Minaj was up to something. After dropping her high-energy single, “Red Ruby Da Sleaze,” the Queens rapper revealed that she had founded her own record label.

The Queen Radio show, which had been absent for almost two years, was the platform chosen by Nicki to share the news and the list of new artists she had signed, among them Nana Fofie, Rico Danna, London Hill, and Tate Kobang.

Nicki, however, will not be divulging the name of her label until the next Queen Radio episode.

“I'm not gonna announce the name, but I have a record label now,” she stated. “And because I believe so strongly in loyalty and because I spent my whole life giving to others that turned around and shit on me, Paddy Dukes is the first A&R on my label.”

The rapper went on to express that the name of her label will be revealed during the upcoming show.

It was last year when the artist first expressed her ambitions to enter the business world of music during an interview with Joe Budden.

“The female rappers before me, I would always say they should have retired as moguls. And I would say, ‘Why isn’t there a female version of JAY-Z, who at that time, even when I was coming in, we could see that he was on mogul status. So I was like, ‘I’m gonna be that person, I'm gonna do that.’ Even what I’ve done, I haven’t done what I want to do, what I need to do, what I will do yet.”

This past weekend, Nicki Minaj was quite active. After releasing her high-energy single, “Red Ruby Da Sleaze,” the Queens native announced that she had set up her own record label.

Nicki used her Queen Radio show, which had been on hiatus for nearly two years, as the platform to share the news and the list of new artists she has signed, including Nana Fofie, Rico Danna, London Hill, and Tate Kobang.

However, the name of the label will not be revealed until the next Queen Radio episode.

“I'm not gonna announce the name, but I have a record label now,” she said. “And because I believe so strongly in loyalty and because I spent my whole life giving to others that turned around and shit on me, Paddy Dukes is the first A&R on my label.”

Nicki added: “I'm not going to tell you guys the name of the label yet, right, but I’ll tell you guys that on the next show. We’ll do a next show pretty soon.”

Last year, Nicki first expressed her intentions to enter the business side of music during a widely-viewed discussion with Joe Budden.
