Nicki Chapman, star of Escape To The Country, has revealed why she spent £5,000 on a facelift. After feeling self-conscious when being photographed, she decided to alter the skin under her jawline non-surgically.
She told OK! Magazine: “I hated my neck being photographed before this. Looking at the picture of myself at the beginning of this process, I can’t believe how jowly I was. You can really see the lines on my neck as well, but looking at the pictures of me now, I can really see the difference. My jawline, neck and chest have changed far more than I could ever have hoped. I’m absolutely thrilled with the results.”
Nicki, who underwent surgery in 2019 to have a 'golf ball-sized' tumour removed, wanted to remain 'available' for her line of work in the TV industry, so opted for an alternative procedure instead of risking being out of work for a few weeks. She underwent four rounds of micro-needling, costing £875 each, plus a final session to improve skin quality and reduce look skin around her jawline and neck, costing £1,500.
Despite being nervous ahead of the procedure after her surgery in 2019, the changes left her feeling like there was 'a marked improvement.' In April 2019, Nicki was diagnosed with a brain tumour, which she later named Burt, after being rushed to A&E when symptoms started to show. She told Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio Breakfast show: “I had him for about two to three years. My eyesight started to go and then I couldn’t speak one day, I was doing a voice-over.”
Nicki went on to explain, “It was serious I could have lost some of my eyesight or my mobility and speech. I know I have been fortunate, I am not going to use the word lucky I say fortunate. Great care, it went my way. They couldn’t take out all of the tumour, I got a little bit left.”
