NEXT Atlanta presents ‘The Next Movement’ concert film with MARTA and WABE.
NEXT Atlanta is thrilled to present “The NEXT Movement: Season 1”, a groundbreaking concert film series supported by MARTA and WABE. This November, the project will feature five renowned artists from the visual, prose, and performance sectors. Distinguished creatives such as Melissa A. Mitchell, Jon Goode, Okorie ‘OkCello’ Johnson, Carlos Andres Gomez, and CC Sunchild will be highlighted through this platform.

NEXT Atlanta's mission is to amplify the voices of Atlanta's leading arts activists, and to engage with our community's post-pandemic dreams and challenges. MARTA's public art program, Artbound, will bridge the gap between infrastructure and artistry to spark conversation through interactive dialogue and collaborative arts and social action.

The film will be premiered in an unconventional space: a MARTA railcar. Viewers will embark on a journey through various art forms, and experience the power of creativity to connect with their community on a deeper level. The first viewing will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 21st, at 7pm at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. After the screening, there will be live performances and a discussion panel hosted by the featured artists, filmmakers, and local leaders.

Attendance to the screening is free, but reservations are limited. If you're unable to make it to the event, the television premiere of “The NEXT Movement” on WABE and PBS Passport will be released later in the month.
