New thriller rises to top of streaming rankings after only 1 day on Netflix due to its unpredictable nature.

Netflix has recently added a new show to its streaming platform that is sure to captivate viewers. The show, The Cleaning Lady, is a tense and emotional crime drama that has already left audiences on the edge of their seats. All four seasons of this hit show are now available to binge-watch on Netflix.

The series first premiered in 2022 and stars Élodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a former Cambodian Filipino surgeon who moves to the United States and settles in Las Vegas. However, she faces a string of challenges, including being an undocumented immigrant and having a son with a rare autoimmune illness. In order to pay for her son's cutting-edge bone marrow treatment, she takes on a job as a cleaner.

Things take a dramatic turn when Thony witnesses a murder and is discovered by the perpetrator, Arman Morales. To keep her quiet, he offers her a job in his criminal organization. With the significant amount of money he offers, Thony sees this as an opportunity to provide for her son and secure their future.

She now lives a double life, cleaning up crime scenes and evading the law. Many critics have praised the show's premise and lead star, but also expressed a desire for more. Paste wrote in its review, "The Cleaning Lady is a fast-paced portrayal of a woman pushed to the edge and forced to contend with hard decisions for the wellbeing of her family, and Yung's central performance is filled with warmth, determination, and grit." Variety also shared positive feedback, saying, "Yung is an appealing lead, and Thony's complicated backstory - Cambodian by birth, she emigrated from the Philippines - may appeal to a segment of the audience that is too rarely seen onscreen." However, some critics found the show to be predictable and with a dull script.

Common Sense Media stated, "While the series features the underrepresented story of undocumented workers, it's still highly predictable with a pretty dull script." Despite mixed reviews, audience members have been drawn to the show's unique storyline and strong performances. One fan on IMDB wrote, "A very different idea which is refreshing to watch. Plenty of action happening all through.

The time went by fast and at the end of each episode I couldn't wait to watch the next." Another fan shared, "It's been a long time since any series has captivated me so much and offered me such a mix of suspense, drama and emotional depth." The show's creator, Miranda Kwok, shared in an interview that her inspiration for The Cleaning Lady came from her desire to make a "female Breaking Bad and a female empowerment story." She also wanted to tell the story from the perspective of a Southeast Asian character and an undocumented immigrant, someone who was a doctor in their own country but unable to practice in the US. Kwok wanted to explore how this character navigates through difficult circumstances and finds their own strength and voice. With 46 episodes in total, The Cleaning Lady has already gained a large following and is currently the third most-watched TV show on Netflix.

If you're looking for a new binge-worthy series, be sure to check out The Cleaning Lady.
