Despite the party's loss in the elections, senior leaders such as Prasanna Acharya, Ranendra Pratap Swain, Arun Sahu, and Pratap Deb were able to secure their seats from Rairakhol, Athagarh, Nayagarh, and Aul respectively.

According to a senior party leader, one of these four leaders is expected to be chosen as the BJD's deputy leader in the House. However, due to his seniority and experience, Acharya is likely to be the front runner for this position. The party is gearing up to make its presence felt in the Assembly despite the saffron surge and is determined to fulfill its duties as the opposition party.
