On Monday night, DJ Vlad appeared on Piers Morgan's TalkTV show Uncensored to share his experience in interviewing Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, who has subsequently been charged with one count of open murder in connection to the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur. In the aftermath of the interview, Davis was arrested on a walk near his home in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson.
DJ Vlad explained the interview technique he used to quiz Keffe D, which he feels led to his eventual confession. He used Keffe D’s self-published 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend about the drive-by shooting as a ‘blueprint’ to make sure the witness was providing an accurate account of the incident. He also revealed why he didn't initially hand over raw footage of the interview to the Las Vegas police, claiming it went against his morals to cooperate with law enforcement in any case that was working against someone he had brought on to his show.
The documentary Last Man Standing: Suge Knight And The Murders Of Biggie & Tupac explored the deaths of both rappers and the life of Death Row Records founder Marion Suge Knight, who was driving the BMW when Shakur died. Its director Nick Broomfield commented: ‘It’s weird the police took so long as Keffe D admitted it several years ago. He admitted he was in the murder car and gave an interview going into the shooting of Tupac in great detail.’
Davis is now facing charges by a Nevada grand jury with one count of open murder with use of the deadly weapon with a gang enhancement. When speaking about the arrest, DJ Vlad said: “This was essentially the worst-kept secret in LA.”
Tune in to Piers Morgan: Uncensored weeknights at 8pm on TalkTV to watch DJ Vlad's interview with Piers Morgan and learn more about the arrest of Duane 'Keffe D' Davis in connection to the murder of Tupac Shakur.
