Madikeri, Jul. 20: The police have arrested the accused in connection with two separate cases of assaulting and attempting to murder a child and murdering a child.
On the 11th, a girl of about 5 years old was standing alone near Biligere with injuries to her body and hands. The police, who received a complaint through the emergency helpline 112, visited the spot and rescued the child, gave first aid at the Madikeri District Hospital and admitted her to the Madikeri Government Maternity Hospital.
Later, on the 14th, the child's mother, Pani's wife Bhagya, was found and brought to meet the child. The child had burn marks on her nose, forehead, cheeks, 2 legs and 2 hands. In addition, there were injuries on the body and hands. When the child was questioned about this, my father Ravi said that he would burn the child with fire and beat him with a stick and push him into a water hole. When he got up from there and stood on the road, the police admitted him to the hospital and gave him treatment. He received a complaint from Panjari Eravara Bhagya seeking legal action against Ravi, who had burned the child's body and hands with fire and beaten him with a stick and tried to kill him. On Ta. 18, the Madikeri Rural Police Station police registered a case under Sections: 115 (2) 118 (1) 109 BNS Act 2023 and 75 J.J. Act and took up the investigation.

After receiving a complaint about the murder of her first husband's daughter Gauri with a stick about 1 month ago while she was living in the line house of the village, the Kutta police registered a case under Section: 103(1) 238(A) BNS Act - 2023 and conducted an investigation and arrested Panjari Eravara Ravi (42), a resident of Devarapura Thitimathi village, on Ta. 19. A special investigation team comprising Virajpet DySP Mahesh Kumar, Madikeri DySP P.A. Suraj Kutta, CPI Shivarudrappa B.S., Madikeri and Virajpet sub-division level crime detection officers was formed to find the accused in this case.
