More students pass CBSE Class-XII exams, with an increase in those scoring above 95%.
The much-awaited results of the CBSE Class-XII exams were declared yesterday, bringing joy and relief to students and their families. This year, there has been a significant increase in the number of students scoring above 90 and 95 per cent marks, with 1,400 and 4,000 more students falling under these categories compared to last year. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of these students, who have shown exceptional academic performance.

In addition, the overall pass percentage has also seen a slight rise, now standing at 87.98 per cent as compared to last year's 87.33 per cent. However, what is truly remarkable is that girls have outshone boys yet again, with a 6.40 percentage point higher passing rate. This is a trend that has been observed for the past few years, highlighting the determination and focus of girls towards their education.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a significant step in promoting a healthy learning environment for students by deciding not to publish a merit list. This will help avoid the unhealthy competition among students, and instead, the board will issue merit certificates to only 0.1 per cent of students who have scored the highest marks in their respective subjects. This move has been praised by many, including CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, who believes that this will have a positive impact on the students' mental health.

This year, a total of 1.16 lakh students have scored above 90 per cent and 24,068 students have scored above 95 per cent. These numbers are significantly higher than last year, where 1.12 lakh students scored above 90 per cent and 22,622 above 95 per cent. It is also worth mentioning that 262 students from the Children With Special Needs category have scored above 90 per cent, while 43 have scored above 95 per cent, showcasing their determination and perseverance.

The Class-XII exams were taken by more than 16.21 lakh students, making it one of the largest examinations in the country. The Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage at an astonishing 99.91, while the Prayagraj region reported the lowest at 78.25. Additionally, more than 1.22 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category, which is slightly lower than last year's number of 1.25 lakh.

In terms of the performance of CBSE-affiliated schools abroad, 95.84 per cent of students have passed the exams, which is a remarkable achievement. Among these, Central Tibetan Schools Administration has achieved the highest pass percentage at 99.23, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at 98.90 per cent, and Kendriya Vidyalayas at 98.81 per cent. Government-aided and government schools have also performed well, achieving a pass percentage of 91.42 and 88.23, respectively. Private schools have achieved a pass percentage of 87.70, showing that students from various backgrounds have performed exceptionally well.

Overall, the results of the CBSE Class-XII exams have been phenomenal, with students setting new records and achieving their academic goals. This is a testament to their hard work, determination, and resilience, as well as the efforts of their teachers and families. Congratulations to all the students who have passed the exams, and best of luck for their future endeavors.
