More strikes planned in Nov: walkouts & industrial action.
For over a year, the UK has been plagued by strike action, and with 2024 looming, it doesn’t look like it’s going to end anytime soon. The country’s most crucial infrastructure, including public transport and the NHS, have already been affected by recent industrial action.

Now, it looks like commuters could face more misery in November, as members of the RMT Union have voted in favour of another six months of strike action. It’s likely that more stoppages on the train network will be announced in the coming weeks, unless the long-running pay dispute is resolved.

To add to this, support staff at schools in parts of Scotland will be walking out on Wednesday November 1. Unison has said its members, who include cleaning, catering, janitorial, administration and pupil support staff, will be striking after rejecting a recent pay offer from the Convention of Local Scottish Authorities.

Mick Lynch, the union’s general secretary, has urged the government to allow the Rail Delivery Group to put forward a revised offer in order to reach a settlement. Otherwise, the RMT Union will be forced to take strike action in defence of its members’ livelihoods.

It’s clear that November could be a difficult month for commuters. How are strikes impacting you and your daily commute? Share your views in the comments below.
