Brighton's CEO says Man Utd should not expect to sign Carlos Baleba easily.

Carlos Baleba, a talented young midfielder from Brighton, has been making headlines lately as Manchester United has expressed interest in signing him. According to Brighton CEO Paul Barber, the club is open to transfer exits as long as they make sense financially. This comes after United's efforts to strengthen their central midfield following the departure of Casemiro and an injury to Manuel Ugarte.

During this summer transfer window, United has already signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48million and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35m. Now, they have turned their attention to Baleba and have reportedly made an initial bid of £60million plus £5m in add-ons for the 22-year-old Cameroon international. Interestingly, United had previously approached Brighton last summer for Baleba, but their efforts were swiftly rejected.

However, this time around, a deal seems to be progressing as both clubs are keen to finalize a deal for the highly sought-after midfielder. While Barber remained tight-lipped about the negotiations, he did mention that Brighton is open to considering offers for key players if the money is right. The potential arrival of Baleba at Old Trafford would add depth to Michael Carrick's midfield.

However, some are not convinced that his signing would be a game-changer for United. Tim Sherwood, a former Premier League winner, believes that although Baleba has potential, he is not yet a finished product. But, he is also not a "dud signing" and could still bring value to the team.

It will be interesting to see how this deal unfolds and if Baleba will join United's already talented squad. As Barber mentioned, let's see where this goes for the highly talented midfielder who has been attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world for the past couple of years. It's safe to say that United's fans will be keeping a close eye on this potential signing.
