Are things changing for Moira again?
Caleb Milligan's plan to destroy Kim Tate in Emmerdale failed, but it left a lot of collateral damage in its wake. His sister-in-law Moira Barton was one of the casualties of this scheming, as he sabotaged her meat business so she would have to sell her farm to Kim.
Though Caleb insisted he never meant to hurt his own family, the damage was done, both financially and in terms of the relationship between Moira, Caleb and Cain.
Kim was kind enough to help Moira out in the aftermath by giving her more business, but Moira was still struggling to come back from the financial losses she suffered due to Caleb's actions.
She soon realized that she could only afford to keep one member of staff, and it was a hard decision to make between her brother Mackenzie and Cain's son Nate. In order to decide fairly, Moira suggested they both apply for the job competitively.
Nate's wife Tracy was not pleased at all and decided to seek help from Caleb. Initially he refused, but eventually he, Nate and Tracy came to an agreement, and he offered to help Tracy with her business plan.
Cain was furious when he found out, and tensions between him and Caleb rose to the point where Chas had to kick Cain out.
In upcoming episodes, Caleb has offered a loan to Nate and the farm, in the hopes it’s enough for Moira to get her business back up and running. Unfortunately, it’s not quite enough and Moira and Nate are still left with huge financial problems.
Only time will tell if the farm will survive this.
