Manipal Hospitals has just announced a major milestone in the healthcare industry - the successful integration of the 400-bed AMRI hospital in Bhubaneswar. This acquisition, which took place in September 2023, will now operate under the Manipal Hospitals brand. According to Partha Das, the chief people officer of Manipal Hospitals, this brand integration will bring a new level of service excellence to the region, starting from May 22.

Das also emphasized the significance of this integration, stating that it signifies a new era of healthcare excellence in East India. He assured that Manipal Hospitals is committed to upgrading the facility to match the standards of its metro counterparts. Saktimaya Mohapatra, the director of the Bhubaneswar Hospital, echoed this sentiment, expressing excitement about Manipal's renowned service excellence now being at the forefront. She believes that this will enable them to set new benchmarks in patient care and satisfaction, aligning with their mission of providing compassionate and advanced healthcare solutions to the community.

With Manipal Hospitals taking the lead, the Bhubaneswar unit will see some major changes. Mohapatra revealed that the new management plans to elevate the facility from a tertiary to a quaternary care hospital, offering comprehensive cancer care services and a fully operational liver transplant clinic. In addition, they will also set up a state-of-the-art second catheterization laboratory within the hospital, enhancing their capabilities to provide advanced treatments and services.

This integration has also marked the entry of Manipal Hospitals into Odisha, with an 84% stake in AMRI Hospitals Ltd. This brings not just the Bhubaneswar hospital but also three hospitals in Kolkata under Manipal's administrative control. This development is a significant step towards transforming the healthcare landscape in East India, and Manipal Hospitals is dedicated to delivering the best possible care to the communities they serve.
