In the court of 10th additional sessions judge Manjul Pandey, the accused Jashpreet, a resident of Street No 8, Mahesh Vakil Ka Makan, Ashok Nagar, Ujjain, was sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment under Section 307 of the IPC and a fine of Rs 1k was imposed.

Deputy-director, prosecution, Saket Vyas stated that on 7th July 2021, the complainant was returning home from work late in the night. When he stopped to urinate near Maksi Road over-bridge and then in front of a country-made liquor shop near the railway crossing, two persons came after him and started to hurl abuses. They then proceeded to punch and kick him. As the complainant started to run away, they threatened to kill him if he did.

He was thrown on the ground with the intention of killing him, resulting in injuries to his head, lips, right hand and other parts of the body due to stone pelting. He was then admitted to a hospital in an ambulance and later informed his father Rajendra Kumar Solanki and his friend Mayur Malviya about the incident over the phone.

A case was filed against the accused based on the complainant’s report and after an investigation, a charge-sheet was submitted in court. Special public prosecutor Roop Singh Rathod presented the case and the court agreed with the prosecution, leading to the punishment of the accused.
