Police in Western Australia have taken a man into custody after a reported altercation at the Westfield Carousel shopping centre in Perth. The incident, which occurred around 3:30pm on Friday, caused the centre to go into lockdown as two men got into a fight.
After an overnight search, authorities were able to locate and arrest the man they believed to be involved in the fight. It was later revealed that one of the men had been armed with a knife, but fortunately, no one was injured by it.
However, a 20-year-old man did sustain head injuries after being punched during the altercation and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Initially, it was reported that three men were involved, but police clarified that they were only looking for one person in addition to the injured man.
Today, that outstanding person was apprehended and taken into custody. Police also confirmed that a knife was secured at the shopping centre on the day of the incident. It is still unclear if the men were acquainted with each other prior to the altercation.
