Mumbai has been in the news after a 27-year-old man and three of his acquaintances were booked for allegedly assaulting and robbing a former employee. The main accused, Ajit Srivastava, was identified with the help of the three other suspects, Kunal Karande, Mantu Mishra, and Munnalal Srivastava.
The 29-year-old complainant, Nitesh Chaurasia, had worked as a manager at Ajit's garment sewing factory a year ago. According to Chaurasia, he was not paid on time and he eventually left the job three months ago to start his own sewing factory.
On Friday, Chaurasia went to meet a client and the duo headed to a bar near Sion railway station. The client handed over ₹50,000 for an order and went to attend a call. In the meantime, Ajit barged into the bar and forcefully made Chaurasia sit on his scooter and drove him to his factory.
At the factory, Ajit yelled at Chaurasia for starting his own business. Fortunately, Chaurasia managed to escape but was caught by the other three accused. They allegedly assaulted him and snatched ₹50,000 and his gold chain. He was later admitted to the Sion Hospital.
A police officer said that Ajit was angry with Chaurasia as he was losing clients to him. This incident has served as an example of the importance of safety and security in the city of Mumbai. The news has come at a time when a viral video highlighting the story of a man creating a 'relax station' for delivery boys to provide them with free chai and snacks has become popular.
