Maliwal accuses Kejriwal's staff member of assaulting her, according to Delhi Police.
On Monday, Swati Maliwal, a member of the Rajya Sabha belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), visited the Civil Lines police station in New Delhi. She claimed that she was 'assaulted' by a member of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff at his official residence. The police officials confirmed that no formal complaint has been received yet.

When contacted, Maliwal did not respond to any messages or calls for her comments on the matter. There was also no response from either the Chief Minister's residence or the ruling party in Delhi. The police received a call at 9:34am from a woman who stated that she had been assaulted at the CM's residence. "Shortly after, MP madam arrived at the police station. However, she left saying she would file a complaint later," stated Deputy Commissioner of Police MK Meena in a press conference.

According to another officer, the call was made from Maliwal's own mobile number. "She claimed to be calling from the CM's residence and said that she had been assaulted by his staff," the officer explained. A team from the Civil Lines police station was immediately dispatched to the CM's residence upon receiving the call. The Station House Officer (SHO) met Maliwal at the residence and she informed him that she would soon be coming to the police station.

Maliwal arrived at the police station at around 10am. "Upon reaching the station, she was informed that a medical examination is required in order to file an FIR for the assault. She stayed at the station for about five minutes and left without filing any formal complaint, stating that she would return later," the officer added.

Virendra Sachdeva, the Delhi BJP president, has demanded an investigation into the matter. "If any woman faces such an incident, she deserves to get justice," he stated during a press conference.
