In Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, a special initiative was launched by the state government on Monday. This initiative, which was implemented at the chief minister's grievance cell, aims to provide immediate financial assistance to those in need. The decision to launch this initiative was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi himself, who personally presided over the 9th grievance cell hearing session.

During the session, Majhi listened to the problems and grievances of the people who had gathered there. He then took prompt and decisive steps to address and resolve each issue. As part of the new initiative, Majhi personally approved immediate financial aid from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to five individuals who were suffering from incurable and terminal illnesses. This was made possible through a single window system, which allowed for a more efficient and streamlined process.

The beneficiaries of this initiative included Hemant Sahu, a paralytic from Nimapada in Puri district, Vichitra Paikaraya, a paralytic from Nirakarpur in Khurda district, Indu Behera, a cancer patient from Tikabali in Kandhamal district, and Rashmita Nayak, who needed financial assistance for her son's treatment from Gajapati district. Additionally, Majhi also approved a sum of Rs 3 lakh for Hazira Bibi, a bone marrow cancer patient from Bhograi in Balasore district.

To ensure that the process of providing assistance was expedited, a medical team was also deployed at the grievance cell hearing place. Majhi emphasized on the fact that his government was committed to providing aid to all sections of society through the grievance cell. He also highlighted the special priority given to differently abled persons, senior citizens, and those in need of urgent services.

During the hearing, Majhi was joined by six other ministers, including Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, who also listened to the grievances of the people. More than 25 officers were present at the grievance hearing, showing the government's commitment to addressing the concerns of its citizens. Majhi stressed on the fact that every grievance was taken seriously and the concerned departments were given strict instructions to take prompt action.

Expressing his satisfaction with the success of the grievance hearing, Majhi stated that out of the 8,737 complaints received since the program's inception on July 1 last year, 7,331 have been resolved. This translates to a disposal rate of about 84%, with the remaining complaints currently being processed for a final resolution. On Monday alone, nearly 1,000 people had come to attend the CM's grievance cell hearing, further showcasing the popularity and effectiveness of this program.
