Luke Littler aiming for World Darts Championship glory after a memorable night at Alexandra Palace.
Luke Littler is having a dream debut at the World Darts Championship. The sixteen-year-old has dropped just three sets in four matches and he's now looking forward to the quarter-finals.

He recently beat five-time world champion, Raymond van Barneveld, 4-1 with an average of over 105. He is now daring to dream of winning the championship and, with his performances, it looks like it could be possible.

When asked if he was now dreaming of becoming world champion, he said: "I think I am now. I’ve seen the draw. I’ve got the same manager as Chris Dobey, so it would be good if one of us could get over the line for our sponsor."

He went on to talk about his next match against Brendan Dolan: "I wasn’t expecting Gary [Anderson] or Gezzy [Price] to go out, I’d have loved to meet one of them in the quarters but it’s not to be and me and Brendan have deserved to get to this stage. With performances like that I think I could [be champion], but it’s whatever happens on the stage on the day. I’ve just got to chill out, have a practice and loosen the arm up ready for my next game."

The other game that made the night unforgettable was Luke Humphries' 4-3 victory over Joe Cullen in the deciding leg of a deciding set. Both players averaged just over and just under the 99 mark respectively. Humphries admitted he felt sorry for his good pal Cullen after the classic struggle. He said: "That was one of the best games I’ve been a part of myself. I feel so sorry for Joe, because every time I looked round it was treble after treble. Sometimes in darts there doesn’t deserve to be a loser and I don’t think Joe deserved to lose that game. But I just can’t lose sometimes. I never give up and I feel like that’s what allows me to keep going."

Raymond van Barneveld was thoroughly impressed with Littler's performance and the World Darts Championship is going to be one to remember. The remaining quarter-finals will be taking place on Monday 1st January, with Chris Dobey vs Rob Cross, Luke Littler vs Brendan Dolan, Michael van Gerwen vs Scott Williams, and Luke Humphries vs Dave Chisnall.
