Longtime BBC host leaves his role, causing emotional reaction.
Hello everyone, I have some news to share with you all. This week marks my final show at the BBC after 30 years in TV news, with 22 of those years spent at this amazing company. I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you who have been tuning in and supporting me throughout my career. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to bring you the news every day.

I will never forget my time here at the BBC, and I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and well-wishes I have received since announcing my departure. It has brought tears to my eyes and touched my heart in a way that I could have never imagined. As a journalist, I never realized the impact my work could have on people, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Although I am leaving the BBC, I will still be around on X, so please stick with me. And who knows, maybe some new and exciting projects, such as moderating or hosting, could be in my future. As an Aussie native, I started my career as a news reporter in Sydney and Canberra before joining the BBC in 2002. It has been an incredible journey, and I have had the opportunity to work for various outlets such as CNBC Nordic and Real TV News, as well as serving as the European Bureau Chief for Paramount Pictures.

My specialism lies in aviation, and many of you may know me from my work on the weekly travel news program, Fasttrack, on BBC World News. But most importantly, I have had the pleasure of working alongside some amazing colleagues who have become dear friends. I am grateful for each and every one of them, and I will miss them greatly.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow reporters who have shared their well-wishes. Mariko Oi, you have been a great co-worker, and your video had me in stitches. Thank you for all the fun and laughter over the years. And to Ben Thompson, thank you for more than just being a colleague, but for being a true friend. Your words of wisdom, our many wine nights, and your daily laughter will be greatly missed.

If anyone has a celebrity story, video, or pictures they would like to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to the entertainment team at The Agency. You can email us, call us, or visit our Submit Stuff page. We would love to hear from you. Once again, thank you all for your support and for being a part of my journey. It has been an unforgettable 30 years, and I am excited for what the future holds. Take care, and stay tuned!
