Lieutenant Commander Suraj Achievement

Madikeri, june.13: Mukkatira Suraj Aiyappa, is a Lieutenant Commander in the Indian Navy, now an officer serving as an Indian envoy to train at the US Naval War College, has now achieved another feat. 
Suraj Aiyappa was placed second in the Essay Competition of the Secretary of Defense's National Staged Telecommunications Model, hosted by All Joint Vocational Education (JPME) institutions in the USA. Through this he has brought fame to the country.
Alongside this achievement, he is also a recipient of both "Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy's Counter-Terrorism prize" and "Naval Staff College International Essay Award". Suraj is also the only International Officer this year and the first Indian Officer 
to earn a Graduate Certificate in Ethics and Emerging Military Technologies from the U.S. Naval War College. Suraj Aiyappa, who joined the Indian Navy in Sword Honors and Navy Chiefs' Gold Medal in 2010, has already successfully handled many important 
responsibilities. He also had the privelege of commanding the Guard of Honour to the President of India during the International Fleet review held at Visakhapatnam in 2016. Now in his prime, he is receiving his training at the Naval War College in the 
United States with the officers of the Navy from around the world. 
Suraj, son of retired Lt. Col. MA Kariyappa (SM) and Saraswati Kariyappa, completed his studies at the National Indian Military College Dehradun and later joined the Naval Academy and became an Academy Cadet Captain.
