Krishnan Guru-Murthy was recently revealed as the fourth contestant of Strictly Come Dancing 2023. The Channel 4 anchor had gone to great lengths to keep his identity secret until the big reveal, which happened on Claudia Winkleman’s Radio 2 show.
Krishnan, 53, had originally been made to wear a rather familiar disguise to the BBC studio, one that had been worn before in another of Claudia’s shows, The Traitors. The huge, heavy cloak was apparently just the right amount of disguise to keep his identity a secret.

Fans all over the world reacted to the news, with one writing “Win the Glitterball Trophy you will”. Another joked, “Are you doing the new Scottish Widows ad?”
Krishnan had said that he was a bit nervous about taking part in the show, but had decided to join in the spirit of “you only live once!”. He said that his wife and daughter were “thrilled”, while his son was “appalled”. In response, Claudia assured him that he would “turn him around” as soon as he got on the dancefloor.
