Kobi Co. offers an in-store experience for candle lovers to explore their range of candles.
Kobi Gregory and her mom, Tash Harris, have made a big leap in the business world. They founded Kobi Co., a Black-owned candle company, in April 2020, when Gregory was just 17 years old. Since then, they have grown their business from online sales to a physical location in downtown Minneapolis.
At 48 S. 9th Street, customers can have the unique experience of shopping for candles in person. Kobi Co. takes pride in crafting their products to appeal to the body’s sensory systems, combining aroma and sound. Every candle comes with a playlist, including the signature #PurpleReign candle, an infusion of lavender and eucalyptus with a Prince playlist. What’s more, they have even created a limited-edition #BlackLivesMatter candle to support survivors of gun violence and police brutality.

The store also offers other products to add to your self-care routine, such as handcrafted soy candles, scented sprays, bath bombs, sugar scrubs, and bath salts. Gregory and Harris have also established a college fund to create opportunities for young BIPOC women, offering an annual scholarship for those in need.

Candles are available from $12 to $33. Customers can also take part in the weekly Bespoke workshop for $50, where they can make their own candles and bath salts in-store. To participate, customers must register online. If you want to save a little, Kobi Co. offers a 15% discount during happy hour, which is 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. If visiting the store in person isn't an option, don't worry - candles are also available online through the Kobi Co. website.
