Kids in Kalahandi face danger for education
The residents of Haradaguda village in Kalahandi district are facing a major challenge when it comes to education. They have to travel to Surli village every day for school, which is quite a struggle. The village falls under the Dedar panchayat of Junagarh block and locals revealed that this daily routine is no less than an ordeal for both the students and teachers.

One of the main reasons for this struggle is the lack of a bridge over the Sagada River. The only way to cross the river is by wading through it, which is not only inconvenient but also dangerous. To make matters worse, the students and teachers have to walk for two kilometers through dense forests before reaching the river. It's an exhausting and risky journey, to say the least.

The residents blame the absence of a school in their village for this situation. Without a school, the students and teachers have no choice but to take this hazardous route every day. They have been facing this problem for a long time, but unfortunately, neither the Education department nor the elected public representatives or the district administration have taken any action to ease their suffering.

The residents are tired of asking how long they have to endure this situation. Two students, Keshav Majhi and Dalamani Majhi, shared that they have no other option but to attend school despite the risks involved. Their teacher, Rajaram Dhangadamajhi, also stated that it is a daily struggle for them to ensure the safety of the students while crossing the river.

The Chief District Education Officer, Susant Kumar Chopdar, has assured that his department will look into the matter and try to establish a school in Haradaguda village. However, the villagers have to submit a written application for the same. Until then, the students and teachers have no choice but to continue taking this dangerous journey every day. It's a situation that needs urgent attention and resolution.
