Kelly Brook is my ideal image - this is the authentic version of myself.
Kelly Brook, the Page Three model-turned-actress-turned-radio presenter, is not who she appears to be. In fact, Kelly Brook isn't even her real name. On the show Celebrity Race Across The World, Kelly revealed that her name is actually Kelly Parsons. The name Kelly Brook was created by a photographer when she was just 18 years old, in order to add some glamour to her persona. Although she has since embraced this "illusion," Kelly admits that it is not who she truly is.

During the show, Kelly and her husband Jeremy Parisi backpacked through South America, relying on their own resources and the kindness of strangers. This was a completely different experience for Kelly, as she is used to having a glam team and being taken care of. But on the show, she was stripped of all those luxuries and had to face challenges that she never had before.

Kelly explained, "You're dealing with stuff Kelly Brook doesn't deal with. Kelly Brook gets a car, has a glam team, and has dinner bought for her. But on Celebrity Race Across The World, Mrs. Parisi didn't have any of those things. She didn't even have a phone or any money. It was a completely different experience."

She also admitted that the Kelly Brook that we see on the show is not the same person as the one she portrays in her everyday life. "I'm not even sure if the person you see on the show exists outside of that scenario," she said. "We all have different faces and different situations bring those out."

On the show, Kelly and Jeremy were competing against other celebrity pairs, including Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan, Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy Brazier, and Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen. They had to travel a total of 12,500km from Belem, Brazil to Frutillar, Chile with limited resources and no internet, relying on their own skills and the generosity of others.

But the trip wasn't just about the challenges and competition. For Kelly, it also revealed a new side of her husband. She said, "He had this judo mentality that came out during the competition. He became very competitive and I had never seen that side of him before. I was in holiday mode, but he was in competitive mode."

Kelly also joked about her husband's determination to save money during the trip, even going on a hunger strike to avoid spending any unnecessary cash. "He would go on hunger strike to not spend money," she laughed. "Meanwhile, I was enjoying the amazing food that we encountered on our journey, like rotisserie chicken and red wine."

But despite the challenges and tense moments, Kelly and Jeremy's relationship remained strong throughout the show. Jeremy even said, "She's my best friend," while Kelly added, "He's my best friend too."

Interestingly, the show also helped Kelly overcome a traumatic experience. She had a panic attack while traveling on a train, after someone jumped in front of it. This left her too traumatized to travel on public transport, but the show forced her to face her fear and she has since been able to take the tube without any issues.

Kelly said, "On the show, I was worried about how I would handle being on buses for long periods of time. But it turned out that was the only mode of transportation we had. Since I've returned, I've even taken the tube a few times and it's been okay."
