Keisha Lance Bottoms calls the atmosphere at Fulton County Jail a
Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was in disbelief when she arrived at the Fulton County Jail ahead of former US President Donald Trump’s surrender.
"It was really surreal," Lance Bottoms said during an interview with MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki. As someone who had worked inside the Fulton County Jail, signing warrants and presiding over first appearance hearings, the atmosphere outside the jail was not what she was used to. "It was something we don’t normally see outside of Fulton County Jail," she said.

The scene was a frenzy of anger and hatred, as protestors chanted "Lock her up, lock her up!" in the direction of the Mayor. She suspected they had mistaken her for the District Attorney Fani Willis.

Lance Bottoms went on to describe Willis as a fearless woman who had an impressive career as a solicitor, judge, and prosecutor, leading some of the most notorious cases in Fulton County. She added that Willis "knows what she's doing."

Lance Bottoms also praised Sheriff Patrick Labat and other agencies across the metro area for their efforts to keep things safe and secure.

As reported by The Hill, Trump supporters had gathered outside the Fulton County Jail following Trump's announcement of his surrender. He was then booked at the jail on Thursday evening and was given an inmate number of P01135809. His mugshot was also released.
