Karnataka Forest Development Corporation Limited (KFDC) was incorporated as a Company under the Companies Act, 1956 on 25/01/1971. The Company’s Authorized Share Capital and paid-up Share Capital are Rs. 2500 lakhs and Rs. 931.40 lakhs,respectively. The face value of each Share is Rs. 1,000.

The Corporation's main activities are to support forest based industries with raw materials from plantations of rubber, pulpwood, teak and bamboo etc, and assist and support Forest Department in reducing biotic pressure on the natural forests to the extent possible through afforestation etc. The Corporation is managing 4443.32 ha of rubber plantations. It has also raised 50,439.88 ha of plantations of pulpwood and other species. The principal products of the Corporation are pulpwood, rubber latex and bamboos. Pulpwood and rubber latex are sold to the industries, bamboos are sold to medars and craftsmen and sticks and props and small timbers are sold to local people through auctions.
