A sexual assault lawsuit against The Real Housewives of Potomac star Juan Dixon and Coppin State University, his former employer, was recently dismissed. The suit was filed by Ibn Williams, a former player, accusing a Coppin State staffer of blackmail and sexual assault.
The court proceedings ended with Baltimore Circuit Judge Melissa K. Copeland ruling in favor of the defendants. She did, however, leave grounds for the complaint to be amended. She stated, “We are very much at the very beginning of the case.”
The complaint alleged that Lucian Brownlee, a teammate of Williams who had gone on to become director of player development, was guilty of inappropriate behavior. Dixon, the former head basketball coach at Coppin State, was accused of not reporting Brownlee’s behavior to school officials. The lawsuit also claimed that Dixon had informed Williams that Brownlee was “mentally ill or otherwise emotionally imbalanced.” Furthermore, it stated that the Director of Athletics Derek Carter and Coppin State were aware of his history of instability.
Even though Dixon and the school were cleared, the lawyers for Williams want the public to know that the allegations made in the lawsuit still stand. Lead counsel for Williams, Daniel “Donny” Epstein, said, “None of these change the allegations that we’re making. They just clarify and, perhaps, maybe would’ve avoided the motion.”
Dixon was fired earlier this year amid the lawsuit, and with the revelation of his cheating scandal against his wife, Robyn Dixon, “RHOP” fans can surely expect some drama to come forward in Season 8.
