Josephine Chaplin, daughter of the iconic Charlie and Oona O’Neill, has sadly passed away at the age of 74. According to a death notice supplied by her children Charly, Julien and Arthur, published in Le Figaro, Chaplin died on the 13th of July in Paris. The cause of death was not mentioned, however a funeral will be taking place in the French Capital.
Josephine Chaplin began her acting career in one of her father’s last films, Limelight, in 1952. She played the part of ‘Child’ in the opening scene, and then went on to star in A Countess from Hong Kong, directed by her father. Chaplin’s other film credits include Jack the Ripper, The Bay Boy and Docteur Françoise Gailland, which also featured Isabelle Huppert. On the small screen, she made appearances in a variety of shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and her last appearance was in Downtown Heat in 1994.
