It's the end of the road for Jody Cundy and Jowita Przystał on Strictly Come Dancing 2023. On this year's series, Paralympian Jody Cundy CBE was partnered up with reigning champion Jowita Przystał, however, their journey ended in week four when the couple landed in the dance-off.
The dance-off saw Jody and Jowita face off against comedian Eddie Kadi and his partner Karen Hauer. First up, the former performed their Salsa again to Samba de Janeiro by Bellini. This was followed by Eddie and Karen's American Smooth to Tom Jones' Sex Bomb.
Despite being awarded a 10 last week, Eddie and Karen landed in the bottom two of the leaderboard. Fortunately, their dance was a hit with the judges who unanimously voted to save them. Judge Craig Revel Horwood said: 'For improvement and musicality I would like to save Eddie and Karen.' Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke agreed, with the latter saying: 'I thought one couple danced very well and one couple had a bit of an off night.'
Head judge Shirley Ballas confirmed that she would have voted in line with her fellow judges: 'I agreed with the Judges I would have saved Eddie and Karen.' With three votes, it was confirmed that Jody and Jowita would have to leave the competition.
Despite the disappointment, Jody thanked his pro partner Jowita for helping to boost his confidence and for the amazing time he'd had on the series. Jody said: 'And with this amazing person...I absolutely loved every second of it.' Jowita showered Jody with praise, saying: 'I cannot even describe how proud I am of you Jody.'
