Investors in Madhya Pradesh unable to get money back from Sahara India despite government initiative.
The residents of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh were filled with hope after the Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the Sahara Refund Portal. Investors who had deposited their hard-earned money with Sahara India Pariwar were expecting to get their money back. However, their hopes have been dashed due to the lack of honesty from Sahara employees.

Investors frequently visit the office of Jagdish Rathore, manager of Sahara India Pariwar Office in the district headquarters, Rajgarh Naka. These are the investors whose deposits have already matured and they have surrendered their deposit certificates in the office with the hope to receive payment from the company. To their dismay, they have not received the payment yet despite making rounds to the office for years.

The Sahara Refund Portal was launched by Shah on July 18. To receive payment on the portal, investors have to upload the certificate of deposit. The problem is that these certificates are with the Sahara India Pariwar manager who has been missing from the office for several days. The investors have been calling him several times but he does not receive their calls.

The distressed investors on the condition of anonymity said that the process of receiving payment through the portal cannot be completed without the original certificates from the manager. The cashier of Sahara India Pariwar Office, Nagendra Srivastava, said that the manager is the only one who has the certificate and only he can give it.

Attempts to contact the manager Jagdish Rathore have failed after repeated attempts. Meanwhile, BJP district president Bhanu Bhuria said that Sahara’s manager and other employees should cooperate with the investors with responsibility. He further said that if they do not do so, some action will be taken in this matter.

Apart from this issue, other development works are also taking place in Jhabua and Alirajpur districts. The Madhya Pradesh government has announced a plan of Rs 380 crores for electrical work in the area.
