In a heartwarming scene from Monday's episode, we see PC Swirling visiting Cain in his prison cell to inform him that he is free to go. Despite Cain's usual tough exterior, Swirling understands the stress he is under and doesn't take his attitude personally. Instead, he offers his support and reveals that his own aunt went through a similar situation as Moira. Swirling advises Cain to also seek support for himself as he helps Moira on her journey to recovery.
This isn't the first time that we've seen PC Swirling show compassion towards the residents of Emmerdale. Last year, he was brought to tears when he found out about Rishi Sharma's death. And he also attended Zak Dingle's funeral earlier this year.
