The Mumbai Police have recently responded to a video clip that has been circulating online, showing a home guard uniformed in duty dancing with a young woman in the second-class ladies' coach of a Central Railway local.
The incident, which reportedly took place between 10.10 pm and 10.15 pm on December 6, showed the young woman dancing inside the train carriage while the home guard was seen standing near her, cautioning her to stay away from the door while shooting the video. Suddenly, he started grooving to the audio with her, and some of the other ladies on the train began recording it.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, the Government Railway Police immediately took action and summoned the home guard, SF Gupta, for an explanation on December 8. Following this, a default report was filed, marking the initiation of an official investigation into the matter.
With the intent of preventing such incidents in the future and ensuring the safety and security of commuters, particularly women, the GRP is strategising a comprehensive plan. A senior official from the Police told the Times Of India that existing directives have been issued to staff, stressing the prohibition of shooting or posing for videos/photos/selfies while in uniform and on duty.
The video clip has since been a topic of public discussion, with many questioning if the home guard was really Salman Khan. However, this rumour has since been debunked and the truth behind the viral video has been revealed.
