EastEnders has announced the casting of Alan Ford, most known for his work in films such as Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, in an upcoming heartbreaking death storyline.
The Exorcist: The Beginning star was spotted on-location with the cast of the long-running serial drama, filming emotional scenes for the funeral of Aunt Sal, which will take place early next year.
This isn't Alan's first time in EastEnders, having appeared in a single episode in 1986. He played the role of Sam Sangers, a con-man who targeted Debbie Wilkins shortly after the death of her boyfriend Andy O'Brien. Pauline Fowler quickly realised his intentions and gave him his marching orders, letting him know he 'ought to be ashamed of himself'.
It is still unknown if Alan will be playing the same character or not.
Aunt Sal had appeared in over 50 episodes of the BBC serial drama between 1996 and 2017. Her final appearance was at the funeral of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell in 2017. She was known for her sharp wit and insight at Mitchell family occasions such as weddings and funerals.
The character was played by actress Anna Karen, who tragically died last year in a house fire.
