Madikeri, Jul. 23: Leaders of Kodagu Gowda Samaj submitted a request to MLA A.S. Ponnanna to allot 13 acres of vacant land in Survey No. 98/1 Paisari land of Madenadu village to Madikeri-Kodagu Gowda Samaj for the establishment of a cultural, educational and sports centre for the semi-speaking Gowda community in Kodagu district.

The leaders, who met Chief Minister's Legal Advisor and Virajpet constituency MLA A.S. Ponnanna at the Vidhana Soudha office in Bengaluru, thanked the MLAs for their promise to provide Rs. 1 crore for the construction of a community hall for Bhagamandala Gowda Samaj. Addressing the leaders, the MLA said that the demand for providing land in Madenadu village to the Gowda Samaj will be placed before the Cabinet.
