Civic Workers Felicitated at Madikeri Coffee Dasara

Madikeri, Oct. 13: Civic workers of the Madikeri City Municipal Council were felicitated in appreciation of their services during the inauguration of the 'Coffee Dasara' stalls, organized as part of the Madikeri Dasara festivities.

Sixty-four civic workers received this civic honour, funded by MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda’s personal grant.

Speaking after the felicitation, the MLA stated that it is everyone's duty to treat the civic workers—who keep the city clean—with respect, adding that the debt of gratitude owed for their service can never truly be repaid. He noted that waste disposal is a major challenge in Madikeri and announced that plans would be formulated and programs implemented to ensure scientific waste management.

Mantar stated that on October 22—the day following the Dasara festival—he would personally participate in cleaning the Gandhi Maidan with the cooperation of the Dasara Committee and various organizations.

Speaking to the media later, the MLA remarked that many professional coffee-based product manufacturers from Kodagu are participating in the Coffee Dasara, making it an excellent platform to spread the aroma of Kodagu coffee to other regions.
