Former "Basketball Wives" star Gloria Govan is now facing a lawsuit from Silver Leaf Events for unpaid production costs related to her cannabis company RLNTLSS Brands. Newly unveiled court documents reveal that Amanda Tingler, the owner of Silver Leaf, is claiming Govan failed to uphold her end of a contract worth $15,000.
Tingler had met Govan in January 2023 in order to produce episodes of a video project for Govan’s cannabis business. Silver Leaf proposed estimates for the videography and postproduction editing services which both parties agreed to. Silver Leaf then sent over an official contract which Govan failed to sign.
Silver Leaf went ahead with the project and filmed the content as directed by Govan on April 19th. Prior to filming, Silver Leaf sent Govan a text message reminding her to sign the contract and to please send payment immediately. However, she never brought the signed contract or check and proceeded to give them the run around for weeks.
Govan eventually claimed to send a wire transfer for $7500 of the amount owed, but this never happened. She then claimed to only be able to send $1000, but again, no payment was ever received. As a result, Silver Leaf stopped work on the project in May 2023 and is now suing Govan for breach of contract, fraud, intentional misrepresentation, and conspiracy to engage in unfair business practices. They are demanding $30,000 in damages.
Govan has found herself in hot water yet again as she's also on the hook for $200k in a lawsuit filed by her former lawyers who represented her in her divorce from NBA champion Matt Barnes.
