Do you want to get the classic Princess of Wales look for this Christmas? Well, you're in luck! Richard Ward, the stylist to none other than Kate Middleton, has shared his top tips for achieving the same royal bouncy blowdry that will last you from Christmas Eve to New Year's.

The key to having long-lasting curls is to not overload your hair with product. Richard suggests using very little product at the beginning and building it up as you go along. He said on This Morning, "People think that to make hair last you need to overload it with product – totally wrong. Don't do that because we're going to load it through the week."

To ensure your curls last, Richard recommends using a silk pillowcase when you go to bed on Christmas Eve. He also suggests putting your hair up in a high top knot with a silk scrunchie. This will help limit static in your hair and keep your curls looking fresh.

If you're not planning on washing your hair for a few days, Richard advises to use a towelling hairband and a shower cap when you take a shower or bath. To combat greasiness, he recommends using dry shampoo – just apply it in between the roots as if you were using regular shampoo.

When it comes to New Year's Eve, Richard suggests doing a sleek updo with a dangling ponytail to show off the curls. To finish off the look, use some gel or hairspray to slick back any flyaways. On New Year's Day, you can wash everything off and start over again.
