As a result, Pledger was arrested and released on bail on April 22nd, on the condition that he undergo a mental health assessment ordered by the court.

However, the next morning, Pledger absconded from the hospital, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He managed to evade the police for three days before being remanded in custody again. Pledger had already spent 96 days in pre-sentence detention, but the prosecution is requesting for more jail time.
